zum Spöckmeier

Our traditional alehouse at the Marienplatz, founded in 1450, is among Munich’s oldest restaurants. Proud of our history, we continue to promote Bavarian alehouse culture. Besides serving traditional Bavarian dishes, we also operate our own butchery, as was customary in earlier times. This makes the Spöckmeier a notable part of Munich’s inner city. We underscore our commitment to history by weaving modern elements into the traditional. We look forward to your visit!

The Spöckmeier atmosphere: traditional hospitality with modern touches

Remodeled in 2009, our facility’s unique ambiance results from a combination of traditional hospitality and modern details. Cheerful, bright wood panels, large-scale historical pictures (paintings) in period formats and comfortable lighting make you feel right at home. Our alehouse offers a variety of rooms, including our bustling bar, our “Stüberl” parlors (“Karl Valentin”, “Münchner Kindl”, and “Weißwurst-Stüberl”), and the “Roseneck” section, suitable for all kinds of occasions.

Sausage fresh from the pot and smoker!

Our master butcher Andreas Jung prepares freshly-cooked Weißwurst, Wiener, Wollwurst, and pork sausages, and Bavarian meatloaf for you daily.

Paulaner beer fresh from the barrel!

We tap 5 specialty beers fresh from the barrel for you. Of course, we also serve refresching Russ, refreshing „Radler“ shandy, alcohol-free and seasonal beers, like Octoberfest or strong, dark Salvator beer
